MCIE Books

IEP and Inclusion: Full Participation Through the IEP Process is a guide for parents, teachers, administrators and advocates. MCIE developed this book to assist people who want to advocate for the full inclusion of a student with disabilities in his or her neighborhood school. These advocates are members of a school-based team (teachers, parents, administrators and advocates) who design special education services and supports that are individualized for a student with a disability. The book helps team members navigate the legal requirements necessary to fulfill their respective responsibilities. It contains a listing of suggested supplementary aids and services as well as excerpts from the IDEA and interpretations by the US Department of Education, the Office of Civil Rights and federal courts.

* This book is available from MCIE. Please send a check
(for $20 plus $3 shipping/handling) with mailing information to MCIE.

(Maryland residents please add $1.00 for sales tax.)
